Zahava studied fine arts at the HfbK Hamburg, specializing in stage design. Projects have taken her to Kampnagel Hamburg, Theater Basel, Ruhrtriennale, Maxim Gorki Theater, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Schauspielhaus Zürich, among others. She has a long-standing collaboration with the music theater duo Leo Hofmann/Benjamin van Bebber, the documentary-artistic group Costa Compagnie and the director Leonie Böhm, with whom she created the production MEDEA*, which was invited to the 2021 Theatertreffen.
Zahava Rodrigo was born in Bremen in 1984.After studying philosophy and German language and literature at the University of Potsdam, she studied fine arts at the HfbK Hamburg from 2009, specializing in stage design under Prof. Raimund Bauer.During her master's degree, she was an annual scholarship holder of the Friends of the HfbK.Zahava develops stage sets and costume designs for works in music, dance and spoken theater at municipal and state theaters as well as in independent production contexts.
In recent years, projects have taken her to Kampnagel Hamburg, the Munich Biennale, Theater Basel, Maxim Gorki Theater, Münchner Kammerspiele, Ballhaus Ost in Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, among others.
She has a long-standing collaboration with the music theater duo Leo Hofmann/Benjamin van Bebber, the documentary-artistic group Costa Compagnie and the director Leonie Böhm.The production "Medea*", which was created in collaboration with Böhm, received an invitation to the 2021 Berlin Theatertreffen.She has also conceived installative works for exhibitions at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, the Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg and the Ruhrtriennale, among others. With the performance "Mango Shop", she also developed her first work under her own direction at Ballhaus Ost in 2019, funded by the Berlin Senate. She has also worked as a mentor for the Netzwerk Theaterfrauen and has an artistic teaching position at the Berlin University of the Arts.zahavalebt with her family in Berlin.
