SHZ-LESEREIHE #7
Henri Maximilian Jakobs: Paradiesische Zustände

Scenic evenings with guests & friends

Even in summer, counting the time under layers of clothing. In his novel Paradiesische Zustände, author Henri Maximilian Jakobs tells the story of the turbulent present of the main character, Johann, whilst casting a glance into the future. This queer coming-of-age story is about health insurance, friendship, mental health, having a first name, hot summers, and euphoric moments. Let yourself go for a while and listen to Johann's words as he describes his story.

Lee Fischer will give a dramatic reading of excerpts from the novel. Following the reading, Nina Kunz, editor at Das Magazin, and Elio Martin Romo, dramaturgy assistant, will talk to Henri Maximilian Jakobs about his novel. Henri Maximilian Jakobs is a musician, actor and author based in Berlin. He is a trained bassist and music journalist, publishes records and tours under his own name and with various bands.

The Schauspielhaus Zürich wants theatre to be accessible to everyone. As for all performances, there is a fixed contingent of tickets for the SHZ reading series, which only cost CHF 20/10 and are primarily intended for those visitors who do not benefit from any other concessions. These tickets are available to everyone as long as they are available – especially for those for whom the ticket price of CHF 30/15 is too high a barrier.
