Gil Schneider is a Berlin-based composer, producer, and DJ. Since 2014, Schneider has been releasing music under the solo project “GIL,” ranging from club tracks on labels like Staycore and Mixpak to experimental noise music on the Swiss label Danse Noire, as well as Storm Salon for piano, violin, and cello, released on Yegorka. Gil’s compositions are tactile, non-linear, and yet intoxicating experiences that deliberately evade genre classifications, constantly surprising audiences in new ways.
In addition to the EPs released as GIL, Gil Schneider has composed music for film productions by Akinola Davies for the BBC and Film4, as well as for dance and theater pieces by Suna Gürler, Christopher Rüping, Teresa Vittucci, Sonja Jokiniemi, and many others.
