Jonas Link

Jonas Link, born in Würzburg in 1987, studied media technology at the HAW in Hamburg while working as an assistant at the Thalia Theater for Peter Baur, Meika Dresenkamp and Studio Braun, among others. After graduating in 2013, he worked as a video designer for the musical performance 'One Day' by British musician Matthew Herbert during the 'Lessingtage' festival at the Thalia Theater. In the winter of 2014, Jonas Link worked as a video artist at Thalia in der Gauß for the production of 'Gertrud' by Hjalmar Söderberg (directed by Eirik Stubø). In spring 2016, he developed video animations for the staged concert 'Bye Bye Beethoven' by violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja. A second collaboration followed a year later with 'Dies Irae' as part of the Lucerne Festival. In the 2016/17 season, Jonas Link worked with director Ulrich Rasche on the production of ‘Sieben gegen Theben/Antigone’ at Schauspiel Frankfurt.In autumn 2019, he worked with director Angela Richter on the premiere of Slavoj Žižek's ‘Antigona’ at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. Since 2013, Jonas Link has been collaborating continuously with director Bastian Kraft and stage designer Peter Baur. They have worked together at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Burgtheater in Vienna, the Schauspiel Köln, the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. Peter Baur and Jonas Link have been awarded the Nestroy Theatre Prize 2022 in the category 'Best Set Design' for Die Schwerkraft der Verhältnisse at the Akademietheater.
