David Reichel thinks of theatre as an intervention, founded a heterogeneous jogging group, although he prefers walking, and likes DJ-ing and electric guitar. He studied theatre pedagogy at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). At the Junges Theater Basel (JTB), he worked with young people on the plays "Back to the reveal!" and "Am Ende der Straße liegt auch nur Teer". With his theatre collective "Sämy*Zunder", he explores forms of performative mediation that make it possible to make learning content accessible through alternative educational opportunities. In addition to his artistic activities, David Reichel conducts research in the field of violence prevention, which he teaches at various schools in the city and canton of Zurich using theatre pedagogical methods.
