Anita Iselin Soubeyrand

Actress and director, born 1968 in Andeer, Switzerland. Studied acting at the University of the Arts in Graz and had her first engagement at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. She went on to work as a resident member at the Ulmer Theater, Neumarkt Theater Zürich, Staatsschauspiel München and Schauspiel Frankfurt, as well as guest performances at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Neue Bühne Senftenberg, and in the independent theatre scene in Switzerland. Anita Iselin has worked with Andreas Kriegenburg, Dimiter Gotscheff, Christoph Schlingensief, Roger Vontobel, Michael Thalheimer, Sebastian Hartmann, Anselm Weber, Christiane Pohle, Burkhard Kosminski, Frank Raddatz and her husband Manuel Soubeyrand, among others. With the Deutsches Theater, she performed in Guanajuato, Mexico City and Prague and was invited to the Wiener Festwochen. In 2007, she began teaching acting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2009, she also took up a teaching post at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, and in 2016, she was appointed Professor of Acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She teaches music, drama and directing at the Folkwang University, where she is developing an integrative approach to the performing arts. She also works in radio, film and television. She has two daughters and lives in Essen.
