On the one hand, the French author Michel Houellebecq is considered a misogynist, a reactionist, or even an Islamophobe; on the other hand, he is celebrated as a highly sensitive visionary and a clever marketing stra tegist. Literaturclub presenter Nicola Steiner and critic Philipp Tingler love to argue and, as part of Johan Simons’ staging of Submission, devote themselves to what is probably the most controversial French author of the present day.
