Performances with English Surtitles

Theatre for everyone - even without any knowledge of German! In the upcoming 2024/25 season, the Schaupielhaus Zürich will be presenting outstanding theatre and great storytelling from the past and the present. In addition to famous classics, you can experience many new plays by international contemporary authors.

For our multilingual and international audience, all expats and visitors of Zurich from all over the world, the Schauspielhaus Zürich offers a special service: all performances in the Pfauen, Schiffbau-Halle and Schiffbau-Box are shown with English surtitles. Exceptions are only made for all premieres, some productions and guest performances, as well as for productions in the Schiffbau-Matchbox. The dates with English surtitles are marked with a surtitles icon in our monthly programme and our website.

The surtitles are usually clearly visible from every seat. For further advice, please contact our staff at the theatre box office. Please check the website and the monthly programme for any changes to language or seating arrangements.
