Theaterjahr & Open Stage
The Theaterjahr at the Schauspielhaus Zürich offers five young people the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of theatre. They spend an entire season at the Schauspielhaus and are part of the Artistic Mediation Theatre & School team. Here they actively support the collaboration with school classes by helping to design workshops and accompanying youth clubs. They can intern in a variety of areas, such as directing, costume design or set design, giving them a broad insight into the creative and organisational processes behind the scenes. They also have the opportunity to get a taste of other departments, such as the Workshops, communications and the Artistic Operations Office.
The Open Stage is a special series of events organised and hosted by the Theaterjahr. It is a platform that invites people to express themselves in 10-minute-contributions and to meet other young people. The Open Stage takes place every second Saturday of the month at the Kammer, in the Pfauen. There is a bar and a well-equipped stage with amplification, acoustic and electric guitars, electric piano and cajón. Admission is free.
