Dani Catalán Dávila, born in 1989 in Onda, Spain, began his musical training with the percussionist Eloy Puertas and went on to study classical percussion in Valencia under the guidance of Manel Ramada. He specialised in jazz vibraphone at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. He also holds a master's degree in music research from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. He has won prizes in several prestigious classical and jazz competitions and has held teaching positions at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. In addition to his concert and teaching activities, he has composed music for various theatre productions, including Draussen vor der Tür (2020 with director Luise Voigt), Monstermonster! (2021 with Franziska Werner), Amsterdam (2023) and Antigone (2024) at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, as well as Serenade für Nadja (2024) at the Theater Oberhausen, directed by Ebru Tartıcı Borchers.
