Roland Koch, born in 1959 in Uezwil, Switzerland, first studied psychology and ethnology at the University of Zurich before attending the Zurich Drama School. After engagements in Celle, Constance, Hanover, at the Berlin Volksbühne and the Munich Residenztheater, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater Vienna since 1999. Since the end of 2011, he can be seen in the investigative team of Tatort Konstanz in the role of Matteo Lüthi. Koch regularly gives guest lectures at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the field of stage and film design, he also teaches acting at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna and at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in the field of role design. In 2015, he was awarded the Nestroy Theater Prize in the category “Best Supporting Role”.
