Elias Arens

Born in New York and raised in Zurich, he completed his acting training at the Department of Performing Arts and Film at the Zurich University of the Arts, earning his Bachelor’s degree in 2008. During his studies, he received the Migros-Kulturprozent Acting Prize, a scholarship from the Friedl Wald Foundation, a solo prize at the 2008 Meeting of German-Language Drama Schools in Rostock, and the Armin Ziegler Prize in 2011.

From 2009/10 to 2022/23, he was a permanent ensemble member at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, collaborating with directors such as Sebastian Hartmann, András Dömötör, Lilja Rupprecht, Andreas Kriegenburg, Ulrich Rasche, and Anne Lenk. Guest roles took him to the Staatstheater Hannover, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, and a production with the RIAS Chamber Choir at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Starting in the 2024/25 season, he is part of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Zürich.
