Dear Audience
Something unique is starting. We’ve been planning this program all year long at Schauspielhaus Zürich, and we’re looking forward to shared encounters with you.
We want to build a bridge between the future team, Pınar Karabulut and Rafael Sanchez, and our predecessors, Benjamin von Blomberg and Nicolas Stemann. Between fresh start and continuity, exciting discoveries and artistic reunions, we’ve planned a 2024/25 season as unique as it is passionate. Our program looks to the power of great storytelling from the present and the past. Multiple premieres – first and foremost Dea Loher’s kaleidoscope of a lonely society longing for togetherness, MS. YAMAMOTO IS STILL THERE – speak to our trust in the theater as a sensor of the here and now.
We humans are ephemeral creatures, and theater is an ephemeral artform in the best sense. We mustn’t miss each other – successful moments are elemental in theater. Theater is not final, theater is never in the know. It brings us together, poses questions, and provides for new experiences. We warmly invite you to a year of theater, which if we’re lucky, will feel like a prolonged festival about the search for commonality. Our convergence with you and the city of Zurich is burning with curiosity.
Yours,
Ulrich Khuon and the whole Schauspielhaus team
