Die Räuberinnen

After Die Räuber by Friedrich Schiller
Staging: Leonie Böhm and Ensemble

For director Leonie Böhm, the theatre is a fantastic place for the search for freedom. The theatre is a site of performance and experimentation – live and together. Leonie Böhm chooses Die Räuber, the work with which the young Schiller first tried his hand at being a playwright. In collaboration with the ensemble, Leonie Böhm uses the old text as material to attempt “catching the soul at its most secret operations” (Friedrich Schiller) for herself. Real intimacy without compulsion, one’s own set of laws, no fear. Die Räuberinnen had its premiere at the Münchner Kammerspiele and can now be seen in Zurich.
