Something is wrong in the forest. And this already at the time when the gods dwelt on earth in animal form. A mighty iron forge, insatiable in its hunger for wood, drives the forest creatures to a frenzy. Mortally wounded, the young warrior Ashitaka sets out in search of a cure. He meets the wolf's daughter Mononoke and forms an alliance with her to avert the impending clash between nature and humans.
