Artists at Risk (AR) is a network institution working for persecuted artists from war and crisis regions. For over two years, Schauspielhaus has been supporting Artists at Risk (AR) through fundraising, providing accommodation, and intensive networking efforts. Now, Schauspielhaus opens the Pfauen to give Artists at Risk (AR) a stage and to raise awareness of their work in Switzerland.
The event will begin with a panel discussion on the work of artists at risk. Alongside Artists at Risk directors Marita Muukkonen and Ivor Stodolsky, three artists will speak about their work in exile: a singer from the Ukrainian-Ethiopian women's hip-hop group FoSho, recently declared "future superstars" by the Republic in anticipation of their performance at the Venice Biennale; Aws Al-Zubaïdy, a Palestinian theater maker currently living in Switzerland and russian Streetart-artist Slava PTRK.
Following the discussion, the future superstars Fo Sho will perform a concert on the Pfauen stage.
