Seven young people decide to share themselves with the world. So far, so commonplace. But the fact that they set themselves the task of finding a common expression is quite an outmoded challenge. How can they be individuals and still be part of a group? How can they stand up for themselves and still collaborate? Even in Switzerland, which never tires of praising its ability to compromise, collaboration is all too often limited to group work at school. This is set to change in the WRITERS' ROOM. Here, co-operation is mandatory. Here, the poles of individual and group are explored on the basis of concrete goals. The aim is to create something that everyone can get behind.
In their daily theatre work, director Sebastian Nübling, musician Jackie Poloni and author Lucien Haug focus on creating a process-based and collaborative product. The title WRITERS' ROOM already indicates that the new production is not about the creation of a play. Instead, in this project with seven players from the junges theater basel, they embark on a search for development opportunities for the untrained muscles of social cohesion.
