Mozart – loved by God, idolised by people. “Perhaps the greatest genius in the known history of humankind,” wrote Wolfgang Hildesheimer. The image of Mozart as a divine figure has survived into the 21st century – and anyone who has been moved by his music will readily agree. The mystification began shortly after his untimely death. Composers adore him. Philosophers and writers ponder the mysteries of his life and music. Corinna Harfouch and Hideyo Harada explore what it was about Mozart's works that fascinated the 19th century and made his music a place of longing for the Romantics. Using scenic elements, puppetry, recitation, improvisation and, of course, lots of original Mozart, they create a vivid and revealing portrait of an immortal yet very human master.
