He studied stage design (with Ezio Toffolutti) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (in Raimund Bauer's class.) Florian Lösche has designed the sets for numerous productions by Jette Steckel and Antú Romero Nunes. He has also collaborated with Anne Lenk, Lars Ole Wahlburg and Athina Tsangari. He has worked at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Deutsches Theater and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the Schauspiel Zürich, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Salzburg Festival, the Basel Opera and Schauspielhaus Basel, the Kammerspiele Munich, the Vienna Burgtheater as well as the Hamburg State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. His works have been nominated for and awarded various prizes, including the Nestroy Prize, the Faust Prize and for the production of "Don Giovanni" at Hamburg's Thalia Theater he received the Evamaria Bonacker Prize and the Hamburg Rolf Mares Prize.
