Philine Erni studied art history and European literature in Berlin. During her studies she worked in the public relations department of the Theater Basel, as well as in the outpatient youth welfare service in Berlin. Since 2012 she has been involved in the BuchBasel literature festival, where she has been responsible for sections of the programme from 2015 and for production and communication from 2016. Her special focus is on communication development and the curation of young and unusual literary formats. From 2015 she has headed the communications department at the multidisciplinary festival Culturescapes and from 2017 has also been jointly responsible for the literature programme. She has worked on projects in the fields of education and communication for the German Literature Archive Marbach, the Mobile Academy, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the Bildrausch Film Festival, the young writing house Wortstellwerk and the Theater Neumarkt. She is the press spokeswoman for the International Animation Film Festival Fantoche and has been the press spokeswoman and co-manager of public relations at the Schauspielhaus Zurich since May 2019.
