Nico Grüninger (born 1985) joined the Junges Theater Basel at the age of 13 and, as part of the company, he performed in youth clubs and youth productions for about ten years. He then studied German language and literature, history and cultural management in Basel and Berlin. From 2012 to 2019 he was in charge of the education programme at the Kaserne Basel and developed various projects in the field of theatre and dance for people of all ages. Together with Suna Gürler, he founded Die Voyeure in Basel in 2012 and has since been co-director of this Swiss project aimed at young theatre and dance audiences. From 2013 to 2019 he also ran his own queer party label, ok Sébastien, in Basel and still works as a DJ from time to time. Since the 2019/20 season, he has been working in Audience Development at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and is in charge of promoting various productions.
