Julia Riedler (concept and performance) was born in Salzburg. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and was already engaged as a permanent ensemble member at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg during her final year of studies. She then joined the ensemble at Schauspiel Köln, followed by the Münchner Kammerspiele from 2015 to 2020. Since then, she has worked as a freelance actress at venues including the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Burgtheater, and Volkstheater Wien. In summer 2024, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in Nicolas Stemann’s production of Orestie.
She has received numerous awards, including the Boy Gobert Prize for outstanding young actors in 2013, the Förderpreis from the Friends of the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2015, the AZ Star of the Year award for Best Actress in 2016, and the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize in 2017. In 2021, she was nominated for the Nestroy Theatre Prize for Best Supporting Role. In addition, she works as a voice artist for radio plays and appears in various film and television productions, including Tatort Frankfurt and the French feature film Conann, which premiered at Cannes in 2023.
