Lioba Lea Bangert, born in 1995 in Berlin, studied Architecture, earning an M.A. from the University of the Arts Berlin and the Glasgow School of Art – Mackintosh School of Architecture, as well as Stage Design – Scenic Space at TU Berlin. During her studies, she worked for Staab Architekten, contributed articles to Protocol – Magazine for Architecture in Context, and served as a tutor in the Department of Architectural History and Theory under Prof. Michael Bollé at the University of the Arts Berlin.
Her first independent work as a stage and costume designer emerged during her architecture studies, including projects at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and multiple productions at Theater Chemnitz. Most recently, she served as an artistic collaborator for stage design with Eva Veronica Born on a cross-disciplinary production by the Chinese theater collective Paper Tiger Theater Studio, directed by Tian Gebing, which was shortlisted for the 2024 Theatertreffen of the Berliner Festspiele.
In the 2023/24 season, she frequently assisted at Schauspielhaus Zürich, working with the artistic teams of Suna Gürler, Lucien Haug, and Yunus Ersoy, as well as Joana Tischkau's team.
Since the 2024/25 season, she has been a resident stage design assistant at Schauspielhaus Zürich.
