Franco-Tunisian, began their drag career in 2018 in the underground scene of Uppsala, Sweden, under the name Klamydia von Karma. Over the next few years, Klamydia developed a unique style that blends performance absurdity and melancholia, quickly gaining recognition in the drag community.
After moving to Switzerland, they performed and hosted at venues across the country and throughout Europe, including France, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Sweden. In 2023, Klamydia achieved notable success, winning Heaven Drag Race and Drag Roy-LÄLLE-ty, cementing their status as one of Zurich’s drag artists.
Simultaneously, Anis Meschichi pursued an academic career in Cell Biology, earning their PhD in Sweden and joining ETH Zurich in 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher specializing in Evolutionary Cell Biology. Their ability to merge art and science challenged traditional boundaries by advocating for LBGTQ+ inclusivity in academia and scientific outreach.
Klamydia von Karma continues to perform and curate events that push the boundaries of drag artistry while advocating for inclusivity and cross-disciplinary dialogue.
