Simon Brusis

Born in Munich in 1978. Trained as an actor at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theater in Leipzig. First engagement at the Staatstheater Meiningen. He then made guest appearances at the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, among others. In the 2008/2009 season, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Magdeburg and from 2009 to 2011 he was a permanent member of the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam. Simon Brusis then made guest appearances at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, Anhaltisches Theater Dessau and Theater Bonn, among others. From 2015 to 2019, Simon Brusis was a member of the ensemble at Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, where he worked with directors including Heike M. Goetze, Simone Blattner, Alexander Eisenach, Jacques Palminger and Peter Kastenmüller. He has been freelance again since the 2019/20 season and has performed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Theater St. Gallen. He is part of the collective Präsidentenbalkon, with whom he realizes independent theater projects and will take over the artistic direction of Central Uster from the 2024/25 season.
