Neda Rahmanian

Neda Rahmanian was born in Tehran and moved to Germany with her family at the age of five. 
She grew up in Hamburg and studied acting at the Rostock University of Music and Drama from 1999 to 2003. She has worked at the Theater Osnabrücker, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Hamburger Kammerspiele and most recently at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. In 2014, she played her first leading film role in “Leberkäseland”, directed by Nils Willbrandt. In 2016, she worked with performer Shirin Neshat and played her alter ego in “Looking for Oum Kulthum”, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. Today she can be seen in many television and cinema productions. Parallel to her artistic activities, she is a guest lecturer for acting at the Rostock University of Music and Drama, among others. In addition to her professional activities, Neda Rahmanian is a patron of Sisters Network, which promotes equal opportunities for young migrant women.
