Jana Wassong was born in 1989 in Siegburg. She studied stage and costume design at the Toneelacademie Maastricht and the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. After completing her studies, she was engaged as a stage design assistant at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
Wassong has worked at institutions such as the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Schauspiel Leipzig, Volksbühne Berlin, and Staatstheater Hannover, collaborating with directors including Lucia Bihler, Christian Weise, Sebastian Baumgarten, and Bonn Park.
As an artistic associate, she has also worked with visual artists Ragnar Kjartansson and Jonathan Meese. She has an ongoing collaboration with the Berlin-based PopKultur Festival, where she designs stage sets for musicians as part of the Commissioned Works series.
