Katinka Deecke studied French literature and theatre studies in Paris after training to be a dancer. She then went to Frankfurt/Main for a master’s degree and worked at the University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK). In 2010, she moved to Berlin to be the production manager for the international art project 80*81 by Georg Diez and Christopher Roth. From 2012 to 2015 she was hired as an opera dramaturge at the Theater Bremen under the intendant Michael Börgerding, where she worked with Anna-Sophie Mahler, Benedikt von Peter, Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, Schorsch Kamerun and Robert Lehniger, among others, as well as being responsible for interdisciplinary projects and the curation and acquisition of third-party funds for festivals and series. As a dramaturge she joined Benjamin von Blombertg from Bremen to theIn 2015 the Münchner Kammerspiele of Matthias Lilienthal, where she collaborated with Christopher Rüping, Trajal Harrell, Amir Reza Koohestani, Lola Arias, Alexander Giesche, Boris Nikitin and David Marton. In the same capacity, she took part at Stefanie Carp’s first Ruhrtriennale in 2018, as well as doing freelance work at the Stuttgart Opera, the MC93 in Paris, the Manchester International Festival and the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne.
2019-24, she was the senior dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
