Liebe, einfach ausserirdisch

by René Pollesch
directed by René Pollesch
Production of the Deutsches Theater Berlin

“Mission terminated??? No. We have to go back??? NO!!!!!!! I can’t believe we’re being sent home. Do you think I won’t miss them? The people I’ve grown fond of here? How people avert their gaze when I approach them? Or them up there in the gallery who can’t see me anyway?”

It was intended to be a triumphant return. For September we had scheduled a production by René Pollesch – author, director, and one of the most eminent contemporary theater makers. On February 26, 2024 René died in Berlin. The void his death leaves cannot be filled. To keep his magnitude and the richness of his works alive, to keep them present for you and us, we’re bringing LIEBE, EINFACH AUSSERIRDISCH to Zurich. It premiered in 2022 at Deutsches Theater in Berlin with a star-studded cast: Sophie Rois, Trystan Pütter, and Kotbong Yang. “Jocular and quippy, this infernal trio takes us on a magnificent jaunt into outer space – they have us laughing without leaving our seats and applauding in joy.” (FAZ)
