Helena Eckert is a dramaturge and curator. Since the 23/24 season, she has worked as a dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. From 2018 until the end of Matthias Lilienthal's directorship, she has been a dramaturge at the Münchner Kammerspiele and a curator for the project X Shared Spaces. Since then, she has worked as a freelance dramaturge in theater, visual arts and documentary film, among others with the artist Johannes Paul Raether and the director Susanne Kennedy (most recently on the international co-production ANGELA - a strange loop, which premiered in 2023 at the Kunstenfestivaldesartes in Brussels). She has been working with in-house director Leonie Böhm continuously since 2019 and was previously a guest dramaturge at Schauspielhaus Zürich in 2020 for the production Medea* (invited to the 2021 Theatertreffen) and Johanna. She studied Philosophy and Art at the University of Hildesheim, at the UFPA in Bélem do Pará, Brazil and the MA Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna as well as Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths College in London, where she graduated with an ethnographic film about multigenerational memory, nationalism and nature aesthetics.
