Simon Senn, born in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1986, lives in Geneva. Senn is a visual artist and studied fine arts at the Haute école d'art et de design in Geneva and has completed a master's degree at Goldsmiths College in London. He is represented by the Nicola Von Senger gallery in Zurich, and his work L'hôtel des sapins is part of the Kunsthaus Zürich collection. His exhibitions were shown at the Liverpool Biennial, The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London and the Kunstmuseum Bern, among others, and has received several awards (Swiss Performance Art Award, Swiss Art Awards, Kiefer Hablitzel Award). At first glance, one might think he is a socially engaged artist speaking out against a certain kind of injustice. Nonetheless, his works sometimes reveal a more ambiguous approach that explores aporias rather than articulates addressed criticism. Even if his videos or installations are usually based on a certain reality, fiction is often mixed in with them. Be Arielle F is his first suggestion for the stage, with which he received the second Premio sponsorship award for performing arts in 2019.
