Thomas Wodianka

Thomas Wodianka was born in Schrobenhausen in 1974 and studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. He first moved to Zurich in 2000 to join Christoph Marthaler's Schauspielhaus ensemble. Here he worked with directors such as Meg Stuart, Falk Richter and Stefan Pucher. From 2004, he has worked as a freelance actor in Switzerland and abroad in both the independent and municipal theatres. In 2013, he became a member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, where he worked with directors such as Yael Ronen and Sebastian Baumgarten. From summer 2017, he returned to freelance work, collaborating with, among others, Susanne Kennedy at the Volksbühne Berlin in WOMEN IN TROUBLE and COMING SOCIETY. In 2019, he rejoined the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Zürich. In the summer of 2022, Alex Schaad's film AUS MEINER HAUT premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Queer Lion. Thomas plays the roles of Roman and Leyla in the film.
