Michael Haves is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer from Berlin who is active in various alternative music genres. He works with bands, for theater, films, series, radio plays and as a lyricist. His career is characterized by the open connection of all timbres, from acoustic music to wide electronic worlds. From classical composition to songwriting and sound experiments, he has left his mark everywhere.
Originally part of the innovative Berlin jazz scene, with numerous international concerts and tours, his focus as a songwriter was with the alternative pop band Super700, which he founded. In addition to many tours through Europe, the band played in Mexico, Canada, China and the USA, including on the legendary radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic.
He lived in Kosovo for a time and worked with local artists there. He currently co-leads and produces crossover big band projects such as Brigade Futur III and the Schweizer Jugendjazzorchester.ch.
In his studio, The Cop Shop in Berlin, he produces selected artists from the leftfield area between jazz and alternative pop. In the theater, he has composed music for over 30 plays in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and works with directors Barbara Weber, Nurkan Erpulat, Robert Wilson, Tilo Nest, Corinna von Rad and Jakob Fedler.
